Project Overview

To Have and To Hold Flowers, is a boutique flower shop known for stylish arrangements, gifts and floral designs. They are located in the historic Victorian Quarter of Cork City.

They are renowned for the fact that each creation is arranged by their design team with precision and passion. The store is a complimenting sister store to the To Have and To Hold Wedding & Events showroom store at Kinsale Road Commercial Centre.

The Have and To Hold Flowers team came to Insight to discuss their online options as they needed to develop an E-Commerce side to the business. The brief for the project was to create an online presence and store that would both look stylish and elegant as well as showcase the beautiful arrangements that they create for their customers. They also needed to make it very easy for customers to order and gift products online. They wanted the store system to automatically calculate delivery for different areas within Cork City and County (set distance from the physical store in MacCurtains Street, Cork City).

The creation of the overall website branding style, with pastel colours, elegant web fonts, custom graphics with sharp product photography and video was the first point of focus for Insight Multimedia’s Design Team. Insight went into the shop in MacCurtains Street, Cork City to shoot the main website video. The production of the video sets the overall tone of the business and shows the beautiful flowers and arrangements produced in-house. When a user lands on the website the video walks you through the front doors of the shop and brings the customer into this unique experience of ‘style and elegance’. The photographs used (all shot by Insight’s team), the overall design style and the walkthrough video, all help to create a visually engaging and appealing friendly website for the end user. The E-Commerce functionality includes many customised features including custom product options for gifting, dynamic layouts to add interactivity as well a custom delivery calculator based on Google Maps API to measure the exact distance from the store in order to calculate shipping costs.

The website is fully responsive and ensures a great User Experience on all device types.
